About the Workshop Series:
You're invited to join this 4-class series for adult children and family caregivers to honor an aging parent through creativity, story, and connection.
Together, we create a custom memorial altar—a living tribute made with images, words, and meaningful objects—supported by guided prompts and a caring group container.

Class-by-Class Flow
Class 1: Begin + Build the Container
We start with introductions—who I am, what we’re making, and why this work matters. You’ll begin creating your altar foundation and accessories (including candle elements), share stories in pairs and as a group, and leave with a clear next-step plan.
What to bring: Any photos you already have (printed or digital), meaningful words/phrases, and a willingness to share stories (at your comfort level)
Home practice: collect imagery, words, and meaningful themes for collage.
Class 2: Create the Visual Focal Point:
We check in, then begin building the central collage element—often a magnetic collage plate or visual panel featuring a main focal image (one or two-sided).
What to bring: Small artifacts or objects for the altar (lightweight items are great.)
Class 3: Words, Gratitude, Family Expressions:
We bring in written devotion—gratitude letters, family sayings, personal expressions, or optional wreath-making. You’ll choose what fits your parent and your family dynamic.
What to bring: family sayings, recipes, or written memories you’d like to include.
Home practice: Anything you’d like for finishing touches (additional photos, small keepsakes)
Class 4: Felt Hearts + Sharing the Altars
We create felt hearts—stitched with names, initials, nicknames, or symbols—and complete the final altar details. We end by sharing altars, witnessing one another, and honoring the meaning created.
